And the things which you have heard from me, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
2 Timothy 3:16, 17
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching…that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Life is a series of changes. Seasons change, circumstances change, and people change. The only “thing” that doesn’t change is God. God is the same yesterday, today, and for all eternity. That’s why you shouldn’t cling so tightly to a person or the way things are at any particular moment because God may have other plans for you. But the tricky part is, you can’t see the future and so you become fearful at the thought of losing life as you know it. Somewhere deep inside, you imagine that you won’t be “good enough” or not be able to handle what will be asked of you. But God tells you to never be afraid or discouraged because He will be with you and promises to never leave you. Remember, He is the one “Thing” that will never change, consequently, it is God whom you should be clinging to; not another person, not a set of circumstances. Wherever you are, if God is putting you somewhere new; is leaving you somewhere you no longer want to be; or has taken someone from your world, there is a reason. You have been sent, or left, to share your wisdom, your encouragement, and your love. That’s it. That’s what it all boils down to. When you cling so tightly to the way things are and become unglued at the possibility of change, you are showing a lack of faith in your partnership with God. You are saying that you know better than the Creator of the Universe about what should be happening in your life. So when you start to feel anxious about where you are or where you might be, remind yourself that what God calls you for, He equips you for. If God has put you there, you can handle it. Your mission is bigger than any person or task that you have been given by “man.” Your ultimate purpose is to reflect God’s love, wherever you are, with whomever you are with. Focus on that. Keep your eyes on God and cling to the wisdom of His plan. It is always your best deal.
