When You Are Uncertain Take Your Eyes Off Yourself And Journey Into The Harvest

Matthew 9:37,3Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  "Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."

Matthew 9:13,17
"But go and learn what this means, 'I desire compassion, and not sacrifice,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." "Nor do men put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."

Philippians 3:13,14
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

This day, what is God calling you to do?  Look around, right where you are. The harvest in plentiful.  That means there is work to be done; and with each new day, you have the chance to be helpful and really do something that will make a difference in your world.  It may be just a word of wisdom or encouragement that you speak to one person; or your harvest might be really big, and what you say and do can affect a lot of people. Each new morning brings a chance to start over, to put on a new self, a braver self, a better self.  You may feel at times like the harvest is too big and too vast as you look at it with the uncertain eyes of the little person inside of you.  But that’s not God’s spirit talking. In the book of 2 Timothy 1:6,7 it says “Kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you.  For God has not given you a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” Keep repeating that verse, when something new, something tricky, something uncertain presents itself.  Remember:  God believes in you, even when you don’t.  And what God wants you to do is to be compassionate and work the harvest that He has put before you.  Remember that what God calls you for, He equips you for.  Don’t look behind at the mistakes of your past.  Today, decide to be the “new wineskin,” the stronger self, the braver person.  Listen to the song of the harvest.  It is beckoning you and calling your name.
