1 John 4:4,16,18
Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

The one feeling that is usually present when you face any stressful situation in which you have no idea what to do is fear. Fear occurs when you are afraid to make a decision or take a step because you think that if you do, it will make the situation worse or result in a mistake that you would be inadequate to handle. As a result, you don’t make a decision or do anything. You just feel more and more anxious and trapped. But God has already planted the answer to any of life’s choices as a seed within your heart. The seed is God. The seed is Love. God is Love. When you focus on the Love that has been planted in your heart, rather on the fear that grips your spirit when you have to make a decision, the answer will come to you. Fear takes over when you anticipate a negative result. But God tells us that He has already overcome anything that the world has to offer. You have already overcome any negative situation that is happening in your life. By not taking a step in trying to fix something that is tricky in your life, you are showing a lack of faith in God’s ability to handle whatever is on your heart. The problem with doing nothing is that you will continue to feel anxious, irritated and lose by default. That means the situation won’t get resolved because you aren’t letting your needs be known. It’s like playing baseball: you can’t win if you don’t show up. You are like that team; and guess what? You’ve got God as your coach. How can you lose? So show up. Pray before you step up to the plate; then swing. Try something new. Say the words that could move you along in life or resolve a situation that has been troubling you. Ask yourself these three questions: “If I do nothing or say nothing, will I continue to be anxious or irritated?”; “Could something I say or do move me along in life or resolve a situation that has been difficult or tricky for me?”; “Will my words or actions result in God being glorified and bring about love and peace?” If the answers to these questions are “Yes,” then move! Step up and take a swing. God will control where the ball flies. The Championship may be yours yet.
