When You Don’t Know Which Direction You Should Take, Seek Then Step

Psalm 91:11-16

For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.   They will bear you up in their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone.  (Insert your name) will call upon Me, and I will answer (insert your name); I will be with (insert your name) in trouble; I will rescue (insert your name) and honor (insert your name) with a long life.  I will satisfy (insert your name).

Matthew 6:8,25, 30,33,34

Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.  Do not be anxious for your life.  If God so arrays the grass of the field which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do for you?  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore, do not be anxious for tomorrow for tomorrow will care for itself.

There will always be circumstances that come into your life that will require you to make some sort of decision.  Anxiety comes when you worry that you might pick the wrong course of action, and as a result, bad things will happen either to you or someone you love.  But God is such a great deal!  He says, “Don’t be anxious!  If I care so much about each grain of sand and every blade of grass, how much more do I care about you?”

When you are faced with making any major decision in your life, remember these two strategies:  Seek then Step.  First, ask yourself, “What would God want me to do?”  Pray that God will very clearly reveal the path that you should take.  When you focus your energy on finding the course of action that God wants you to take, it cuts out the noise of all the other confusing, potentially disastrous options and immediately calms your spirit. That is because you are letting God direct your choices, rather than you.  And you know that God knows and wants what is best for you.  He most certainly will reveal His will to you.  Why wouldn’t He want you to know what He wants you to do?  So take a step.  When your goal is to let God direct which way you should go, it will be the right choice.  And the Creator of the universe will send His angels to ensure you do not fall along your way.
