• Landrum native named president and CEO of Donate Life America (tryondailybulletin.com subscription) — A Landrum native and Landrum High School graduate, Madison Walter-Garcia, has been chosen to lead Donate Life America, the national nonprofit promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation. She brings nearly a decade of CDC public health experience and a deeply personal connection to organ donation through her own family's transplant journey.
   

• Friday Night Rivals Scholar Athlete Rules (wlos.com) — Landrum High School students and staff are eligible to take part in WLOS's Friday Night Rivals Scholar Athlete contest, which runs through December with a $5,000 scholarship top prize. Athletic directors, coaches, or principals must nominate one senior athlete, and Landrum's game-week nominations are due by 5 p.m. on September 18, 2026.
