β€’ Lexington County suing Chapin over development (thenewirmonews.com) β€” Lexington County is suing the town of Chapin, claiming the town is breaching a sewer-service agreement that's holding up a $20.4 million sale of the long-planned Chapin Technology Park. With more than $16 million already invested and a 600-home mixed-use project on the line, the county wants Chapin to either provide wastewater taps or pay the full sale price.

β€’ SLED charges 71-year-old man in Lexington parking lot assault (wltx.com) β€” A 71-year-old Columbia man has been charged after investigators say he intentionally hit someone with his car in a Lexington County parking lot, pinning the victim's legs between two vehicles. SLED brought a second-degree assault and battery charge at the request of the Town of Lexington Police, and the case will be handled by the 11th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and parole agents uncovered cocaine, marijuana, and other narcotics, with prosecutors emphasizing this as part of an ongoing crackdown on serious repeat drug offenders in the county.
