• 10 Lexington One seniors named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists (lexingtonchronicle.com) — Ten Lexington One high school seniors, including one from Lexington High and nine from River Bluff, have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, placing them among the top 1% of seniors nationwide. These students will now submit detailed applications to compete for thousands of scholarships, spotlighting strong academic achievement within Lexington's public schools.
   

• Man wounded after firing shotgun at Lexington County deputies, sheriff says (wltx.com) — Lexington County deputies shot and wounded a man in Kershaw County after he allegedly fired a shotgun at them following two troubling 911 calls from a Shadowfield Drive home. The suspect is hospitalized, the deputies are uninjured and on administrative leave, and SLED is independently investigating the shooting, which involved a resident known previously to law enforcement.
