2013 Drawing Near to God Oyster Roast & Auction

It seems fitting
that the upcoming Oyster Roast and Auction for Drawing Near to God Ministries
will be held at the Lighthouse on Shem Creek -- for the ministry has been a
beacon of light for the thousands of people who have been touched by its
impactful programs over the years.  On November 7, beginningat 6 p.m.,
the ministry will celebrate its successes and raise needed funds for future
outreach to those it serves.

The Oyster Roast
and Auction will feature tasty fare, including oysters, hot dogs, and chili, as
well as a live and silent auction showcasing a variety of rare and unique
offerings. In addition, guests will enjoy musical entertainment by DJ Jim
Bowers and dancing.  A Valentine’s luxury home weekend on Isle of Palms,

an African photo safari, a harbor cruise for three couples aboard a classic 32’

foot vintage wooden boat, and a handmade oyster shell cross – are just a few of
the items that will be up for grabs at the event.

“This truly is a
great event for a great cause,” said Beth Donehue, Oyster Roast Organizer.
“This special evening will have great food, great music, amazing silent auction
items and one-of-a-kind live auction experiences.”

Drawing Near to God
Ministries was founded in 2000 by Christian author, speaker and Bible teacher
Joanne Ellison of Mount Pleasant. The international ministry focuses on
inspiring, equipping and empowering those it touches to draw near to God and to
share their faith with others. Ellison’s community Bible study sessions have
impacted some 5,000 participants over the last 13 years. In that time, she has
written 20 Bible Study guides and a 365-day devotional to support the
ministry’s mission. Ellison’s latest book, Making Space for God, is due
to be published in 2014. Support from the ministry also benefits a number of
local charitable efforts, including the Pink Bus Ministry, which serves young

girls in the Eastside community of Charleston.

“Your donations help us to further our reach to impact our

nation with the good news of Jesus Christ offering hope in a time when people

are hopeless, stressed and looking for the true meaning of life,” said Joanne.

“Our goal is to be a lighthouse shining into the homes of people across our

nation impacting families and changing lives. I have heard countless

testimonies of relationships restored and lives finding new meaning as we hold

out the light of Christ.”

Tickets to the
event are $40 per person. Beer and wine are included. For information on
obtaining tickets, call 843.284.4333 or visit www.JoanneEllison.com.
A complete list of live and silent auction items can also be viewed on the

thank Platinum Sponsor Exclusive Properties and Gold Sponsor Carolina Eye Care for
supporting the event.
