Photos of suspected Charleston County middle school vandal released (live5news.com) — Mount Pleasant police are asking for your help identifying a suspect after vandalism at Moultrie Middle School and nearby town property caused more than $13,000 in damage late Sunday night. Surveillance shows one person on campus just before midnight, and officers say windows, landscaping, signs, and a Farmers Market trash can were all damaged.
2. Mount Pleasant man arrested on six charges in alleged child sex exploitation case (wwaytv3.com) — Mount Pleasant residents should know that a 23-year-old local man has been arrested on six charges tied to alleged online sexual exploitation of minors, following an investigation by Mount Pleasant Police's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Authorities say digital evidence was seized after a national CyberTip, and multiple agencies, including state and federal investigators, assisted the case.
3. Apella Wealth scores deal double, sealing $12 billion AUM milestone with bicoastal additions (investmentnews.com) — A longtime Mount Pleasant financial advisory firm, Morris Financial Concepts, has been acquired by national wealth manager Apella Wealth, which now oversees about $12 billion in assets. The local team and services will remain in place, but under a larger national platform that's rapidly expanding through acquisitions across the country.
4. Dozens of lights out on Don Holt Bridge stretch, raising safety concerns for drivers (abcnews4.com) — If you drive between I-26 and Clements Ferry Road toward Mount Pleasant, be aware that more than 140 streetlights are out along I-526, making the Don Holt Bridge stretch unusually dark and potentially hazardous. Transportation officials say they're investigating the widespread outages and expect to explain the cause and repair timeline soon.
