Stingrays Begin New Season on Saturday

Info on the Stingrays' Opening Night Celebration

We may not have a top-tier professional program in Charleston, but we have some awesome minor league teams! With the Riverdogs packed up for the winter, it's time to move in doors - specifically to the North Charleston Coliseum. That's where the South Carolina Stingrays call home and they're ready for the city's spotlight.

They start their 20th season this Saturday (10/13) with quite the Opening Night celebration. The event actually begins in the afternoon with a Stingray alumni game at 2 pm. There will also be a “Hockey Happy Hour” from 5-7 pm with beers only costing $2. Then at 7:05 the Stingrays will face-off against the Gwinnet Gladiators to begin the 2012-13 campaign!

This first game is indictative of what you can expect from the South Carolina oragnization. Much like the Riverdogs, they provide plenty of promotions and fun during each home game. Be sure to catch some games this year, you won't be dissapointed!
