Normally, I wouldn’t dedicate an entire post to a national news story, but this one hits pretty close to home for me.
I was born and raised in Connecticut and many family and friends of mine are teachers or work in or with schools throughout the state. On a selfish note I am very thankful that no one I know works at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, but many others are not that lucky. It is obviously still a heart-breaking story where words really fail to capture the emotions of the day.
I’ve added my own fundraiser so we, as the Holy City community, can raise money for the United Way’s Sandy Hook School Support fund. Please donate and/or spread the word.

All proceeds I raise will go to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund to help provide support services to the families and community that are affected.
