Those of us who live in the Charleston area have gotten used to the city being showered with endless praise and numerous accolades, but this may not be our proudest recognition.
The Daily Beast has named the Holy City the 4th Drunkest City in the United States. Beating us out were the lushes in Milwaukee, Norfolk, and Boston.
If anyone has spent any time downtown at night or gone to one of beer festivals or been to Folly Beach on the 4th of July, you know this designation is warranted. Plus, we have a vineyard, a vodka distillery and multiple craft breweries. The city is pretty much on a constant buzz.
