Charleston County May Owe You Money
New web page allows residents to search for unclaimed funds.

Charleston County’s Delinquent Tax Department announces a new page on the County’s website to help citizens find out if they are owed money after a tax sale.
Specifically, the new page offers citizens the ability to:
- Find out if there is an unclaimed balance in trust funds due to them as a result of a tax sale.
- See instructions and forms to assist them through the process of claiming funds in their name.
- Check to see if their name is on the list of unclaimed funds (by clicking on the tax sale year link that their property was involved in).
“We receive a lot of calls and emails about unclaimed funds, so hopefully having this information readily available online will make it an easier process for both citizens and our department,” said Tami Quigley, Charleston County’s Delinquent Tax Department paralegal. “Our goal is to get information to citizens who we are unable to contact otherwise.”
