The Ryan White Program recently expanded and opened a comprehensive HIV clinic at MUSC, now dubbed ‘The Wellness Center’. The name reflects our commitment to a holistic approach to wellness, as well as helping to ensure that clients feel comfortable about receiving care in a discrete, welcoming environment that does not identify as an ‘HIV clinic’.
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006 is named after a 15 year-old boy who experienced great discrimination after contracting AIDS through a blood-transfusion.
