At Alhambra Hall, this fundraising event support the Charleston Port & Seafarers' Society. The Seafarers' Society is made-up of volunteers volunteers who make ship visits to fellowship with the crew members (seafarers) from international ships. These volunteers offer prayer support, provide Christian and secular literature, and free Bibles in many languages. Seafarers have free access to telephone, computer and internet (SKYPE), transportation to the crew for shopping, doctor appointments, and visits to local churches. Because some seafarers don’t have visas or shore passes and can’t leave the ships when in port, our volunteers will even do shopping for the crew to get their needed personal supplies.
A festive evening will provide an opportunity for guests to sample a variety of international foods from some of Charleston's best restaurants. There will be prizes, as well as a silent auction.
