Police Shoot, Kill Standoff Suspect
Standoff ends with police shooting man who was reportedly armed and holed up in his home.

A standoff ended Tuesday evening with a barricaded suspect being shot and killed by the Mount Pleasant police SWAT team, according to reports.
The suspect, 60-year-old Richard Cathcart, had been in a standoff with police since around 2:30 p.m. when authorities received reports of a man with a gun.
Police say they were forced to shoot Cathcart when he exited the home in a threatening manner, Live5News reported. The coroner confirmed the death, and an autopsy is planned for Wednesday.

Dozens of police and emergency vehicles lined the man's Parrish Place street, just off Bowman Road near Johnnie Dodds Boulevard.
Following the shooting, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division will conduct an investigation into the events, WCBD-TV reported.
