The Moultrie News is pleased to host a forum for the
public to meet and learn about the candidates running for public office in
Mount Pleasant. The upcoming forum will host candidates running for Mount
Pleasant Mayor, Mount Pleasant Town Council, and Mount Pleasant Waterworks
Commission. The candidate forum will be held at Moultrie Middle School on
Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The candidates running for election are: Mayoral Candidates:
Carl Carroll, Jr., George Freeman, Joe Bustos, Ken Glasson, and Linda Page;
Town Council Candidates: Anthony Kowbeidu, Ben Bryson, Elton Carrier, Gary
Santos, Joseph Wren, Mark Smith, Paul Gawrych, and Timm Gipe; Waterworks
Commission Candidates: Alyssondra Campaigne, Dolph Rodenberg, John Burn, and
Rick Crosby. Candidates for Mayor and Town Council are confirmed to attend.
Three of the four Waterworks Commission candidates are confirmed to attend.
The format will be structured in such a way that each candidate
will have four minutes to introduce themselves and answer one to two questions.
A list of questions, based on applicable issues to the office will be provided
prior to the event. Candidates can choose to answer any or all of them in the
time allotted. The forum is conducted by a non-partisan moderator provided by
The League of Women Voters.
