Patriots Point Brings Back Fireworks Show
Tickets on sale Wednesday to watch fireworks from Yorktown flight deck.

With just over one month remaining until the Fourth of July, excitement is building for Patriots Point’s annual celebration. In addition to the most spectacular fireworks display in the State of South Carolina, Patriots Point announced today that they will once again offer premiere seating on the Flight Deck of the USS Yorktown. Tickets for the Flight Deck are limited and will be sold on the Patriots Point website only (www.patriotspoint.org/July4th) starting Wednesday, June 5.
For $20 per person ($10 for children 11 and under), guests on the Flight Deck will enjoy special access to the USS Yorktown starting at 6 p.m., with catered food and beverage available for purchase, as well as live musical performances and activities for kids throughout the evening. Once the sun sets in the Charleston Harbor, the Flight Deck of the Yorktown will offer a front row seat to the fireworks display, which will feature firework shells shot from a barge in the Cooper River. Lawn chairs are encouraged for guests on the Flight Deck; but no coolers or personal food will be permitted.
“Each year, Patriots Point is proud to welcome more than 40,000 Lowcountry residents and visitors to celebrate the Fourth of July alongside some of our nation’s most historic war ships,” said Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette, noting that the celebration wouldn’t be possible without generous support from the Town of Mount Pleasant, City of Charleston, Stevens Towing and Parker Rigging.

North Charleston is also planning a large-scale fireworks show.
“Last year marked the first year the museum offered this special seating, and the tickets sold out in just over three weeks,” Burdette continued. “Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback received, we anticipate that tickets this year will sell out even sooner and encourage everyone to purchase their tickets early.”

As always, the celebration is free for those who wish to join the celebration from the landside of the museum. Food and beverage from local vendors will be available for purchase and there will be live music and entertainment for the kids in the parking area. A $10 per vehicle parking fee will be assessed for all who wish to park at Patriots Point.
