A Mount Pleasant police officer Tased his neighbor's German shepherd after he walked up on a particularly gruesome dog-on-dog attack, according to reports.
It happened Aug. 25 when the officer had just ended his shift and parked his cruiser outside his Johnnie Dodds Blvd. apartment complex. He wrote that a neighbor pulled up with her dog, a black German shepherd, in the back seat.
The dog got away from the woman and immediately ran after a lab-pit bull mix being walked on a leash by another resident, a report states. The German shepherd immediately latched onto the other dog and "viciously" attacked.

The German shepherd wouldn't listen to commands to return, so the officer deployed his police-issued Taser. Two electric probes entered the dog's side and for 5 seconds completely incapacitated the animal, the officer wrote.
When the canine came to, it ran back to its owner. The pit bull suffered at least one bite injury to its leg. The German shepherd's owner promised to pay for any medical treatment. The case was handed over to animal control for a follow-up investigation, the officer wrote.
