Smoking Ban, TigHitco Incentives On The County's Agendas

Charleston County Council will hold a Zoning Public Hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston. The county has received a rezoning request for 3712 Savannah Highway to change from industrial zoning to community commercial zoning. The wooded lot sits between the Bees Ferry Road intersection and the Main Road intersection. See the agenda.

Charleston County Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston. The council will consider third reading of a smoking ban ordinance. There will also be a second reading on an ordinance for TigHitco financial incentives. The aerospace manufacturer announced plans for a Palmetto Commerce Parkway facility in September, 2011.

The council will hear a request to approve spending $194,000 in Greenbelt funds for the nearly 10-acre Veterans Park on Johns Island, at the corner of Doctor Whaley Road and Old Pond Road. And there is a proposal to rezone 1820 First Drive in West Ashley from residential office to commercial transition. See the agenda.
