Please show your support for JME and Laing by attending the Board Meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 at 5:15 p.m. downtown at 75 Calhoun Street. Jennie Moore & Laing have both waited a long time to receive new buildings.
If the school is not built to the 1200 student capacity, one of two things may happen: 1) Trailers may be needed upon the opening of the new school to accommodate the number of students allocated to attend JME with the rezoning or 2) the current rezoning plan will need to be adjusted impacting numerous neighborhoods that currently feed into JME. This issue also effects Laing and it's proposed capacity.
With our overcrowding here in Mt. Pleasant how can the board possibly try to say the 1200 student capacity isn't required? Do you want trailers on your brand new campus? Make your voice heard tonight and tell the school board they must vote for what is best for the students. It's time for them to drop private agendas and listen to the people! It's time to hold them accountable for the votes!
