Update: Tight Squeeze! Crane Moves Today

The South Carolina Ports Authority will move a second massive crane from the Columbus Street Terminal to the Wando Terminal today at 2:15 p.m.

The first crane was relocated two weekends ago. The tight maneuver requires a low tide since the large cranes barely fit under the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.

The crane has already been loaded onto the barge in preparation for the journey.

The latest estimate from the onsite crew is that the crane should be traveling underneath the Ravenel Bridge around 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, according to a Ports Authority media advisory.
