This is just another reminder to attend the school board meeting tomorrow night @ 5:30pm, 75 Calhoun Street. Once again it is critical for Mount Pleasant residents to have a strong showing in support of our need for seats in Mount Pleasant.
Did you know that Bill Lewis, Executive Director for Facilities Improvements for CCSD, met with the Blue Ribbon Committee for School Accountability and presented the proposed building plans for the years 2005 through 2015.
These plans included assessments of the existing schools for both quality and capacity of each facility. Bill also discussed the population predictions that are being used to determine future capacity requirements, and presented a detailed description of three proposed building plans.
All of the plans call for advance design of a new High School to be sited at the old Wando campus and constructed in the 2010-2015 plan. Additionally, a new Carolina Park ES and Wando HS stadium are included in the 2010-2015 plan.
So I ask this question...This is the year 2013, where is the new high school, the new Carolina Park Elementary School and the Wando High School Stadium. Seems like a lot to build in the next 2 years.
