Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Horry County firefighters assisted other fire crews during an overnight fire at a Brunswick County pizza restaurant. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. Firefighters from Calabash, Sunset Beach, and Ocean Isle Beach also responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. (WBTW)
- The Myrtle Beach International Airport reports that parking is nearing capacity. However, the airport is currently working on a project to rectify the situation. The project will add hundreds of new spaces to its long-term lot and over 40 spaces to its cell phone lot. The project will likely be completed by the Summer of 2023. Before then, please arrive early to find parking. (WBTW)
- Myrtle Beach is getting a new FedEx distribution center. The $64 million facility will be built on Theater Drive in the Fantasy Harbour complex. The construction will likely be completed by the holiday season, according to FedEx. It is unclear how many new jobs the facility will bring to the Myrtle Beach area. (Charleston Post Courier)
