MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A Rhode Island man was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Myrtle Beach, police said.
Gary Everett Arnold, 37, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Arnold, a resident of Coventry, was charged with the Wednesday night stabbing at a business on Third Avenue near Broadway Street, police said in a social media post.
He was booked into the Horry County jail Saturday, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

Following the stabbing, "Officers arrived on scene and provided lifesaving measures to the victim until EMS arrived," police said.

"The victim was then transported to a local hospital," according to police. "Through the course of the investigation, including information provided by a witness and the use of investigative tools, officers were able to quickly identify the suspect, obtain arrest warrants and find his location."

Arnold remains in custody at the county jail. He was being held without bond.
