Prosecutors say he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, while a co-defendant from Virginia previously received 15 years for his role.
• SC 31 Extension Funding Secured by Pine Ridge Deal (myrtlebeachsc.com) — Horry County has finalized a deal that helps fund extending Carolina Bays Parkway (SC 31) toward the U.S. 17 Bypass, a change that will reshape traffic patterns for South Strand and Myrtle Beach–area drivers. The agreement ties road construction money to new homes in the long-idle Pine Ridge tract, raising questions about congestion, drainage, noise and how unfunded portions of the corridor will eventually be paid for.
