'Fords at the Shore' looks to fill void left by Mustang Week (wbtw.com) — A new "Fords at the Shore" car gathering in Myrtle Beach aims to replace the tourism and business revenue lost when Mustang Week moved to Charlotte. The event welcomes all Ford models, channels proceeds to local charities like the Grand Strand Humane Society, and gives area enthusiasts a nearby place to connect, share technical tips, and support local businesses.
   

2. Beach hazards statement for Myrtle Beach area and Coastal Georgetown for Monday (myrtlebeachonline.com) — If you're heading into the ocean near Myrtle Beach today, be aware the National Weather Service warns of strong longshore currents and a moderate rip current risk from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Swimmers and surfers are urged to use extreme caution, check with lifeguards before entering the water, and stay alert for hazardous currents near piers and jetties.

Police have released her description and multiple phone numbers so Myrtle Beach and Georgetown residents can share any tips that might help locate her safely.

North Myrtle Beach fundraiser honors September 11 first responders (wpde.com) — A North Myrtle Beach tavern hosted a Tunnel to Towers fundraiser honoring September 11 first responders, drawing honor guards from Horry County, Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Organizers hope the growing annual event keeps the memory of 9/11 alive for Grand Strand residents while supporting first responders, military members, and their families through the national foundation.
   

5. Roads to close for this road project that has been years in the making. What to know (myrtlebeachonline.com) — Drivers just south of Myrtle Beach should prepare for lane closures starting Sept. 8 as Horry County launches phase one of the Garden City Streetscape project along South Waccamaw Drive and Atlantic Avenue. The multi-year plan aims to improve drainage, reduce king tide flooding, add sidewalks, brighten lighting, and move utilities underground to better protect low-lying streets and nearby businesses.
