1. 'Illegal Bikini' Lands South Carolina Woman in Police Cuffs: What is Nudity? (Video) (thenyindependent.com) — A Myrtle Beach acrobat was briefly handcuffed on the beach after police responded to a complaint that her thong bikini violated the city's public nudity ordinance. Video of the encounter, where officers and friends debate what legally counts as nudity, went viral online, and police ultimately released her without filing any charges.
2. City of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina leaders celebrate completion of beach restoration project by GLDD (dredgewire.com) — Beachfront in Myrtle Beach and neighboring towns just got a major boost, with a $72 million Grand Strand renourishment project restoring 28 miles of shoreline to better protect homes, businesses, and roads from storms. North Myrtle Beach leaders marked the project's completion this month, highlighting hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of new sand placed along the coast.
3. Louis Segreto Foundation hosts first event to help families with deadly illness costs (wpde.com) — Families in Myrtle Beach and across the Grand Strand now have more help covering travel and other costs when a child faces a life-threatening illness, thanks to the Louis Segreto 26 Foundation's first local event at the Dunes Club. The group, which has aided over 1,200 families nationwide, is partnering with area hospitals and hopes to raise more than $35,000 to support young patients' non-medical expenses.
4. Conway man sentenced after pleading guilty to burglaries (wmbfnews.com) — A Conway man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, to run concurrently, after pleading guilty to two second-degree burglaries, including one at a Myrtle Beach area home. Prosecutors say quick action by victims and Horry County police helped secure the conviction, which involved stolen cash, electronics, and property damage from break-ins in 2024 and 2025.
