🌱 CCMF 2023 Adds More Acts + Last Day For Early Voting in SC

Welcome back, Myrtle Beach! I'm here in your inbox on this fine Saturday to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on around town. Today is November 5, 2022. Keep scrolling and you'll read about:

  • Carolina Country Music Fest 2023 has added three more performers to the lineup.
  • Another busy Saturday full of events (and Sunday, too!).
  • Final day for early voting in the general election.

Here are the top five stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. Carolina Country Music Festival 2023 announced more performers on Friday. Brooks & Dunn will be joining Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen who were the first two artists booked for the four-day event. Travis Tritt and Whiskey Myers will also join the lineup. More than 30 performers, total, are expected to play the festival in June, 2023. (WBTW)
  2. The town of Atlantic Beach will hold a special election to fill the seat of slain councilman Jim Dewitt. The election will happen January 17, 2023 for the vacant seat that expires in 2025. Those interested in running for the seat may file starting Friday, November 11 through Tuesday, November 29 at noon. A filing fee of $25 is required. Town residents wishing to vote in the special election must be registered to vote by December 16. (WMBF)
  3. Several people were injured Thursday night after the CCU game against Appalachian State. Three people were taken to the hospital and two were treated at the stadium and released. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers won the game 35 - 28 causing spectators to celebrate by running onto the field. It is unclear whether the university will be fined for the incident. (WBTW)
  4. It's another busy Saturday on the Grand Strand, so pack your patience. Here is a recap of events happening today and Sunday all around the Myrtle Beach area. Saturday: The Walk to End Alzheimer's at Grand Park, Market Common. Big Band Music Fest at La Belle Amie Vineyard. The I Love Seafood Fest at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Plaza. Surfside Beach Family Fest along Surfside Drive in Surfside. The South Carolina Pecan Music and Food Festival in Florence. Saturday and Sunday it's the Waccamaw Indian People Cultural Arts Festival and Pauwau at Waccamaw Tribal Grounds in Aynor. And on Sunday, it's Pooch-A-Mania at Market Common in Grand Park!   5. Today is the last day for early voting in the state of South Carolina. Close to 400,000 people have already voted early as of Friday morning and officials say early voting records have been broken all around the state. On Tuesday, November 8, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on November 8. (WMBF)
