Here are the top 3 stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Conway's Celebration of Lights attracted about 25,000 spectators during the three weeks it was open. The light show started on December 4th and ended on Christmas Eve. It is estimated that approximately one million lights dazzled the city's downtown area. The city plans to do it all again next year! (WMBF)
  2. Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash resulting in an overturned car in Conway. The wreck occurred Sunday afternoon near Old Highway 472 and Highway 66 causing a blocked roadway for part of the afternoon. There is no specific information on injuries, or how the crash happened.   3. South Carolina State Parks is hosting "First Day Hikes" at most of the State Parks on January 1st. Locally, there will be a ranger-led 2.5 mile hike at Huntington Beach State Park's Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail starting at 10:00 a.m.(SCParks.com); and Advice From A Park Dweller learning session at Myrtle Beach State Park starting at 1:30 p.m. (SCParks.com) Individual park rules differ.
