Here are the top four stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. Today is the day! Early voting begins throughout South Carolina. No need to wait until November 8 to cast your ballot. Simply go to any early voting center in the county of your residence, present a photo identification, and cast your vote. Early voting ends November 5. Remember, polls are not open on Sundays. (WBTW) (WMBF)
  2. Temperatures will climb into the high 70s throughout the coming week, making it easier to get out to your polling place, walk on the beach, or just get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Conditions will be dry for most of the week with a slight chance of rain late Thursday. Enjoy the beautiful Grand Strand weather! (WMBF)
  3. The 12th annual Myrtle Beach Out of the Darkness Walk happened over the weekend at Broadway at the Beach. The event brings awareness to suicide prevention and raises money for mental health resources in the community. Over $50,000 was raised during the one-day walk. The suicide and crisis lifeline is available from any phone by calling 988. (wpde.com)
  4. Authorities have identified the person found deceased last week in Myrtle Beach near Highway 501. The homeless man, Brian Durost, 45, died of blunt force injuries. An arrest was made almost immediately after police determined the death was homicide. Christopher Perry, Sr. of Blythewood, SC was arrested and charged with murder. (WBTW)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
