Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- A two-car crash in the Forestbrook area of Myrtle Beach turned into a gun incident, according to police. The whole thing took place around 4 a.m. Wednesday on Burcale Road. Two people were checked for minor injuries at the scene. A person in the other vehicle left the scene on foot. HCPD is investigating and declined to say whether shots were fired. - After some delays due to weather, it looks like the Farrow Parkway milling and paving project should begin Friday, November 18. Also, the planned overnight schedule has been scrapped and the project will be done during daylight hours instead. Workers will continue until November 23, then take a break for Thanksgiving. (WMBF) (WBTW)
- The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football game against University of Virginia has been canceled following that deadly shooting in Virginia that killed three UVA football players. The game had been scheduled for this coming Saturday, November 19. CCU Coach Jamie Chadwell expressed his condolences in a statement released Wednesday. Anyone with tickets to Saturday's game will receive a refund. Simply contact the Chanticleer Athletics Ticket office. A three-to-five business day processing period will apply for refunds. (WCTI12.com) (WBTW) The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel lit up in blue and orange on Wednesday night to honor the three UVA players who were shot and killed. (WBTW) (wpde.com)
- The Horry County teacher who was arrested recently on six counts of unlawful conduct toward a child had been given warnings and suspensions in the past, according to personnel records. News13 received the records via a Freedom of Information Act request. The documents show that Grace McColgan was placed on administrative leave for about a month in February, 2022 due to allegations of unprofessional conduct. One document is a letter to McColgan that states future conduct of a similar nature will not be tolerated and could put her job in jeopardy. (WBTW)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
