Here are the top three stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- Five people were hospitalized on Saturday after a two-vehicle crash shut down sections of North Kings Highway near 79th Avenue North during the late afternoon. One person has life-threatening injuries. The roads were closed for hours. (WMBF) (WBTW)
- There are quite a few D.R. Horton neighborhoods sprouting up in the Myrtle Beach area. Here's a sampling of five new properties on the market in The Parks of Carolina Forest, the Meadows of 707 and The Lakes subdivisions. Patch has put it all together for you to save some time in your new home search. (Myrtle Beach Patch)
- For the third year in a row, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team has made it to the AP Top 25 Poll. This year, the team came in at number 23 with a 9-1 record. The Chants also secured their place as Sun Belt East Division champs and they will play in the conference title game on December 3 against the winner of Sun Belt West Division. (wpde.com) (WMBF)

- Nextdoor Neighbor, Mallard Landing Village: [Posted by Donna Zaniewski of Myrtle Beach] "The water park in Surfside has been sold. My understanding is they are requesting a zoning change so they can build housing such as condos, small homes similar to the Swells, etc. There will be a meeting on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center in Surfside. Please attend this meeting to express your concerns against this project. Traffic and flooding will be big problems if they are allowed to build more homes in this area. Spread the word and attend this meeting." (Nextdoor)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
