Here is your Labor Day weather:

Sunshine! High: 86 Low: 74.

Here are the top stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Police in Myrtle Beach are investigating the source of a 22-year-old male's gunshot wound. The man went to Grand Strand Regional Hospital on Saturday for treatment of the wound, and apparently reported that a shooting occurred on Hemingway Street. Police are asking for the public's assistance, and ask anyone with information to call (843) 918-1382. (WBTW)
  2. In the early morning hours of Sunday, an Horry County ambulance crashed near River Oak Drive and River Court. Three people, believed to be members of Horry County Fire Rescue, were injured and taken to the hospital. The single-vehicle crash is under investigation. (wpde.com)
  3. The return of the Waves Of Praise gospel festival in Myrtle Beach after last year's postponement was a welcome sight this weekend. Not only was there music to be heard at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, but also anyone who wanted to could line up for a COVID-19 shot. Little River Medical Center provided the free shots in partnership with organizers of the event. Out of the hundreds of attendees to the concert, the medical center staff estimates that about a dozen got vaccinated on-site during the show. (WMBF)
  4. Horry County Fire Chief, Ed Begovich, along with a Customs and Border Control agent, helped retrieve an American flag from Hurricane Ida destruction in Louisiana. Three Grand Strand first responders went to the Gulf Coast earlier this week to help with the hurricane. Begovich is being hailed as "representing the best of South Carolina". (wpde.com)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
