  1. Battalion Chief for Horry County Fire Rescue, James Cyganiewicz, has died. The department announced his death on Thursday, but no cause of death was given. He was chief investigator with HCFR's Investigation Unit before becoming battalion chief. (WMBF)
  2. The designation of "moderate" for Horry County's COVID-19 incidence rate was short-lived. South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has bumped Horry County back into the "high" incidence category because there have been more than 200 new cases per 100,000 people in a two-week period. The county had 207 cases in the two week period that ended November 17. (WBTW)

Items needed are pet foods, beds, toys, cleaning supplies, gift cards and monetary donations. Items donated can be dropped off at the Myrtle Beach police station. (wpde.com)
  4. Pastor Tim Carter, founder of Sonshine Recovery Ministries, is stepping in and paying for cremations for deceased people who went through the ministry's program. Carter also runs a thrift store in Myrtle Beach, and the addiction recovery home No Addict Left Behind. So far, he has paid for five burials for addicts who died and would otherwise have been given indigent funerals. (WBTW)
  5. Musician Greg Rowles is leaving his stint at the Alabama Theatre after 22 years. Rowles is the longest cast member in the theatre's history, and he is also emcee. The South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Famer's last performance at Alabama Theatre will be on January 1, 2022. (WMBF)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
