Horry County Government: Horry County To Conduct Aerial Mosquito Spraying Week Of August 16, 2021

Aerial spraying will be conducted 30-minutes prior to sunset and 30-minutes after sunset, weather permitting.

Horry County will conduct mosquito spraying starting the week of August 16, 2021. Specific areas identified for spraying will be released at a later date and will also be available on the website.

Aerial spraying will be conducted 30-minutes prior to sunset and 30-minutes after sunset, weather permitting. 

The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are approved by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating.

To help keep our honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies. You can submit the location of your hive online here.
