Here are the top five stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Coast RTA is no longer requiring masks for passengers after a judge's ruling on Monday voided the national mask mandate on public transportation. The Federal Transit Authority issued a statement saying that the mask requirement on public transportation or at transportation hubs is no longer in effect. Coast RTA made its decision based on the FTA's guidance, along with the TSA, and several airlines including Delta, Southwest, and United. (WMBF) Spirit Airlines has also made masks optional. (WBTW)
- Authorities in Pawleys Island are investigating after a bullet reportedly hit a home there on Tuesday. The residence on Ferguson Drive was also the scene of two arson investigations a few days ago. Two people were seen on the home's video surveillance camera pouring gasoline on the steps of a deck on that same home Friday, and then igniting a fire. Georgetown County authorities are investigating. (WBTW)
- Four-year-old Ava Hannan loves to sing on stage in front of "a lot" of people! The girl's dream came true after she went onstage last weekend at Plyler Park, and belted out "Let It Go" from Disney's blockbuster, "Frozen." Ava's dad says she is totally fearless, and wants to sing on stage again. Well done, Ava! (wpde.com)
- Due to supply chain issues, Horry Electric is sending out its statements in brown envelopes for the foreseeable future. The envelopes will also be used for capital credit checks. The company wants customers to know that the envelopes are not a hoax, and are legitimate. (wpde.com)
- Another industry affected by supply chain shortages is the auto repair business. Local repair shop owners are saying customers should expect long waits for vehicle repair jobs to be completed. The shops are having a hard time with a huge demand here on the Grand Strand, complicated by supply chain issues. When they normally have a few vendors they can go to for parts, they are down to fewer choices, price increases, and parts on back-order. RV repairs seem to be particularly affected. (WBTW)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
