Hello Grand Strand readers and followers! Today is Thursday, June 10, 2021. Today's headlines include Myrtle Beach passing its proposed budget, North Myrtle Beach is reviewing its budget, too, MYR airport plans an expansion after a growth spurt and a year-long wait, construction will start in Carolina Forest on a new roadway, and this is SC's very first Boating and Fishing Week.

Today's top 5 news stories for Myrtle Beach:
- The City of Myrtle Beach has passed its $292 million proposed budget for the next fiscal year. Officials confirmed there will be no property tax increase. Some funds will be used to increase tourism during the off-season, as well as several other projects. (WBTW)
- Similarly, leaders in North Myrtle Beach are reviewing their $131 million budget. A list of projects includes improvements to the NMB Sports Complex, a new stormwater drain, and a much needed Emergency Operation Center near Highway 31. (WMBF)
- Myrtle Beach International Airport leads the area in growth, and will finally continue with big plans to expand its terminals after having to wait over a year. (WBTW)
- Construction crews have been given the green light to start working on an extension of Postal Way in the Carolina Forest neighborhood. The project is expected to take nearly two years to complete. (MyHorryNews.com)
- South Carolina is having its first ever Boating and Fishing Week right now, but experts warn boat buying is at a 13-year high, and supplies are low. The industry consists of around 650 boating and fishing related businesses across the Grand Strand and more throughout SC. (WBTW)

- Rental property owners in Myrtle Beach are fully booked with folks who are attending the CCMF, and are enjoying an increase in rental prices besides. (Details here)
- Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce anticipates that the CCMF will bring in more money than it did in 2019. The festival was cancelled in 2020. (Details here)
