Here are the top five stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Can you help find a 12-year-old Madalyn Anjore? She has reportedly been missing from Horry County since Friday when she was last seen at her home on Carolina Pointe Way. She is considered endangered because she is so young, according to the police. She is 5-foot-4 and weighs 150 pounds and has green hair. Anyone with information is asked to call 843-248-1520. (WBTW)
  2. With springtime comes road construction. Many roads in the Myrtle Beach area are scheduled to get a facelift of sorts with repaving. The project comes with a hefty price tag which will be covered by the state for state-owned roads, the rest will be covered by the Capital Improvement Fund. Get ready for some driving delays as well as some smoother roads. Click here for a full list of the roads that will be worked on. (WMBF)
  3. More information has been provided about the details of Horry County School teacher Kimberly Bone, who has been charged with assault and kidnapping. Reportedly the charges came following a dispute Bone had on Thursday with her roommate at their residence at 13th Avenue South. The victim did not want to press charges however, police determined the suspect was the primary aggressor and that there was enough probable cause to charge the suspect with third-degree assault and battery and kidnapping. According to WMBF, "Horry County Schools placed Bone on leave during the investigation. HCS added that Bone has been with the district since October 2018 and served as an alternative education teacher at the SOAR Academy. Bone was released from jail after posting a $4,000 bond." (WMBF)
  4. In an effort to create more safe areas for kids to get together and be outside, a new bowl that is estimated to be about five feet deep, 50 feet long, and 30 feet wide is in the works for the Matt Hughes Skate Park in Myrtle Beach thanks to the Friends of the Skateboard Park Foundation. Reportedly the foundation gave the City Council a check for $20,000 for the project. The city will contribute $50,000. The foundation still needs to come up with another $10,000 before construction can begin on the project so there are several upcoming fundraisers planned. According to WMBF those fundraisers include, "one at the Oyster Roast and Blood Mary Contest in Murrells Inlet in March and April 1st at New South Brewing in Myrtle Beach followed by the second-annual Myrtle Beach AM at Matt Hughes Skate Park later in the month. Click here for more information." (WMBF)
