Myrtle Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce: 3C Webinar To Help SC Small Businesses Grow Through Technology

One in three small business owners claim that they would have had to close all or part of their business in 2020 during the pandemic were it not for the use of digital resources and tools, according to a recent report produced by the Connected Commerce Council (3C) and Google.

Titled Digitally Driven 2021 and available online at digitallydriven.connectedcouncil.org, the report reveals that having a “digital safety net” proved vital for small businesses to remain strong during COVID-19. What’s more, it found that there’s a growing gap between small businesses embracing digital tools and those who remain less digitally advanced.
To further discuss how digital platforms and tools are helping small businesses succeed, 3C will host S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster, state leaders and business voices for a free webinar titled “Tech Into Tomorrow: How Technology is Fueling and Growing South Carolina’s Economy.”

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber will participate in the webinar with Director of Government Affairs Jimmy Gray joining the governor in the discussion.
“Businesses of all sizes learned to adapt and overcome challenges in 2020. These lessons, methods and technologies are here to stay,” Gray said.
Additional panelists will include Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, 3C President Jake Ward, Assistant Majority Leader of S.C. House Republican Caucus Jay West, Owner of Charleston’s The Tiny Tassel Mimi Striplin, Owner, Founder & CEO of Greenville’s Bandwagon Harold Hughes, Columbia Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Carl Blackstone, and South Carolina Council on Competitiveness President & CEO Susie Shannon.
Among the discussions, Gray, Blackstone and Shannon will highlight the various digital resources and programs available to small businesses locally and statewide.
