Here are the top four stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Four passengers were on board a helicopter that crashed in Myrtle Beach near the AVX parking lot off 17th Avenue South late Saturday afternoon. None of the occupants on board was seriously hurt, according to Myrtle Beach Fire Department. The incident is being investigated by Myrtle Beach International Airport Fire Department and the FAA. - One person was killed in a crash on Highway 17 Bypass and 38th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach around 2:25 a.m. Sunday morning. Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy said a 42-year-old woman died at the scene. The woman's name has not been released as of the time of this posting. Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating the crash. (wpde.com)
- What began as a 10-acre wildfire in Horry County on Saturday quickly grew to 400 acres due to windy conditions during the overnight hours of Saturday into Sunday. There have been no injuries or structures damaged as of the time of this posting. Residents will be seeing smoke for a while, and Green Sea Road was closed, but has reopened to traffic. The fire is contained and is being closely monitored by authorities. (wpde.com)
- Horry County police are searching for a man who pointed a weapon at other community members near Loris over the weekend. Surveillance camera photos show the man and a Ford pickup truck. The incident happened on Dempsey Drive near Loris. The man is now wanted for pointing and presenting a weapon. Anyone with information should contact HCPD at (843) 248-1520. (WMBF)

- The first ever Waccamaw Sportsmen's Expo was a great success in Conway over the weekend. Waccamaw Outfitters and Conway Downtown Alive hosted the event together. One of the highlights was the Dock Dogs competition that drew hundreds of spectators throughout the weekend expo. There were also plenty of vendors, music, and a bass fishing tournament. (WMBF)

- In a press release from Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, it was announced that Leadership Grand Strand's Class 42 will begin working on a new mural overlooking Nance Plaza today.
