🌱 Oceanfront Condo Owners File Lawsuit + Grand Strand Weekend Events
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Myrtle Beach.

Hey, everybody! I'm back with your new edition of the Myrtle Beach Daily. Let's get this Saturday, October 22, 2o22 started off right with a quick dive into the most important things going on these days in town, including updates on:
- Renaissance Towers condo owners filed a federal class-action lawsuit.
- A Myrtle Beach man transported to the hospital from the city jail died at GSMC.
- Weekend events on the Grand Strand!
We couldn't ask for better weather for Saturday:
Sunshine and pleasant. High: 73 Low: 56.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Myrtle Beach who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Myrtle Beach Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top five stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- Condo owners of the oceanfront Renaissance Tower have filed a federal class-action lawsuit against the property and its board of directors. The condominium building was evacuated on October 7 in an emergency — giving residents one hour to leave the building. The lawsuit claims that the building had structural damage that was known about for years and that property managers ignored the situation. Residents have not been allowed to return to the building because it is in extremely dangerous condition. (CBS17.com) (wpde.com)
- A Myrtle Beach man who was arrested for public intoxication on Wednesday evening has died after being taken to the hospital from the MBPD jail. The Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner said Brandon Campbell, 30, died at Grand Strand Medical Center in the wee hours of Thursday morning. SC Law Enforcement Division is conducting an investigation and an autopsy is scheduled. (WMBF) (WBTW) (wpde.com)
- The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control announced that residents should discard some "faulty" at-home COVID-19 test kits. The faulty kits are made by iHealth with lot numbers listed in the linked article from News13. Lot numbers are shown on the back of a test kit box. Other lot numbers and brands are not affected, says DHEC. (WBTW)
- Grand Strand Nissan says things are finally looking up after a massive car shortage. Back in July, the dealership only had six new cars on its lot. General Manager Robbie Haynes now says there are 50 new vehicles on premises, with about half a dozen new cars being delivered every day. They are selling very quickly, because most of the cars were pre-ordered by customers weeks ahead of delivery. It's still a rocky road for the Nissan dealer, but it isn't alone — the automobile industry was hit hard over the past two years. Grand Strand Nissan is having a trunk-or-treat and car wash today with all proceeds going to charity. (WBTW)
- Cryoablation, a painless breast cancer treatment, is now being offered by a Myrtle Beach doctor as a less traumatic alternative to traditional treatments for certain patients. Not many doctors are trained in performing cryoablation — a non-surgical procedure that basically freezes cancerous or non-cancerous tissue and is done in-office. Dr. Hania Bednarski offers the procedure at Serenity Surgery & Wellness in Myrtle Beach for patients who are candidates for the procedure. (Myhorrynews)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
