- Passengers stranded at Myrtle Beach Airport call the situation a "catastrophe", as Spirit Airlines cancelled flights on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Some passengers have been waiting since Sunday for rescheduled flights, missing events at their destination, and having to pay for accommodations, food and transportation while they wait. The airline has stated several different reasons for the cancellations. Spirit's operation is affected nationwide. (WCBD News 2)
- Coronavirus transmission is considered "high" in Horry County according to the CDC's latest report of cases recorded from July 27 through August 2. - Grand Strand Humane Society has delayed its plans for relocation, as the organization continues to look for a suitable temporary shelter for the nearly 300 animals in its care. GSHS has pushed the relocation date forward to August 15. Rescue organizations in the northeast have been helping with the effort, as well as local foster volunteers. (MyHorryNews.com)
- South Carolina State Treasurer, Curtis Loftis, has issued a list of unclaimed property to the tune of over $35 million attributed to fiscal year-end June 30, 2021. The sums are generated by companies that are unable to locate the owners of the funds, usually left behind by a deceased person, someone who moved, or a closed and/or old account. Loftis says folks should check the list, published on his website twice a year, to see if they have any unclaimed funds. (WBTW)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
