- The Charleston Catholic Diocese is being sued by a former altar boy in a case of sexual abuse by a now-deceased priest. In a lawsuit filed last week, an anonymous victim accused the late Father Robert Kelly, of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, of sexual assault when the victim was a child in the 1990s. Fr. Kelly has been dead for more than 15 years. The lawsuit claims the diocese was aware, or should have been aware of the improper relationships Kelly is accused of initiating. The victim is seeking a jury trial. (WBTW)

- A reader recently asked if we could post the high and low tides in the Daily. Since we cover the whole Grand Strand, from north to south, and tide times are (slightly) different for each beach along this 60-mile stretch of coastline, I recommend using a website to check the tides for your favorite beach or the Waterway. Thanks for the feedback! It's always appreciated. (Willy Tides) (Tide-Forecast.com)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
