Here are the top three stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- The owner of The Waterway House Sports and Spirits has faced some setbacks in the past, and now faces the latest challenge after a vehicle crashed into the building on Saturday. Thankfully, no one was hurt even though there were patrons inside the restaurant when a red Jeep slammed into the building. The restaurant recently began hosting live music and had just completed some upgrades. Owner Timothy Monaco says he's faced some setbacks before, including being affected by the pandemic in 2020, but he's ready to jump in and handle this setback as well. The Waterway House will be closed until it is deemed safe to open, which hopefully will be soon, says Monaco. (WMBF)
- How'd you like to be featured as a character in Caleb Wygal's next book? The local author has partnered up with Horry County Literacy Council to do a fundraiser for the council. With a minimum donation of $10 you will be entered into a drawing to become a character in the next Myrtle Beach Mystery Series book! Multiple increments of $10 get you more entries into the drawing (example: donate $50 and you get five entries). The deadline for donations is December 31. Details here: (Patch.com)
- North Myrtle Beach broke the record for the warmest low temperature on this date, with the temp going down to a balmy 71 degrees overnight Saturday night. The unseasonably warm weather has been a real treat for about the past week, but get ready because a cold front is coming through tonight and should change Election Day temperatures by a chilly ten degrees. Typical November temps will follow and rain is more than likely to come through this week. High surf and gusty winds will come along with the rain. (WBTW) (wpde.com)

About me: The best decision I ever made was relocating to the Myrtle Beach area from New England a few years ago, with my three dogs and three cats. I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
