Here are the top four stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. Looking for something fun to do this weekend with the whole family? Check out the Grand Strand Model Railroaders Club's 13th annual Model Train Show Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16 at Inlet Square Mall. The event will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with displays, vendors and Jimmyz Hibachi food truck. Admission is $5 and kids under 12 are free. (wpde.com)
  2. A man was assaulted by four teens as he was leaving the HTC Center on the CCU campus. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras. The man was in his car and honked at the teens to move out of the road. When he drove by them they threw an object filled with liquid at the car, when he got out of the car they beat him up. According to WMBF, "once at the hospital, officers saw the victim had a 'knot' on his forehead as well as various cuts and bleeding on his body. The victim was also missing a bottom front tooth and his bottom lip was cut open. Using surveillance footage, police were able to track the suspects' movements back to a dorm room where they used a student ID to enter. Later the group got into a car parked on campus. Officers arrested Chase Gibson, 19, and Stephen Munguia, Stephen Reynolds and Ethan Thompson, all 18, and charged them with third-degree assault and battery by a mob. All four teens were released each on a $1,000 bond."(WMBF)
  3. With a name like Bad Ass Coffee, who wouldn't want to drink it? The Hawaiian coffee franchise Bad Ass Coffee, which sources coffee from the Kona region of Hawaii, as well as from Kauai and Maui is set to open on the Grand Strand sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. The plan is to have three of the franchises on the Grand Strand within the next five years. Dawn and B.J Kinard, Myrtle Beach entrepreneurs, will be opening the new business. (Myhorrynews)
