• Port Royal 911 calls could soon come with a cost (wsav.com) — Port Royal officials are moving forward with a new "heavy user fee" on commercial properties that generate more than 182 emergency calls a year, aiming to protect 911 access and control rising service costs. Town leaders say households won't be charged, and revenue would help maintain fire and EMS equipment, support staff retention, and keep budgets strong as the community grows.
