Update: 2-year-old Found Safe in N.C.

The Anderson Independent reports the 2-year-old allegedly abducted by her mother has been found safe in North Carolina.

The mother, Megan Marie Briggs, is in custody, according to police. She faces charges of burglary in the first degree, kidnapping and grand larceny.

Robert Briggs (grandfather) said Megan sneaked into the house, took Haley and also stole the keys to their car, $20 from his wallet and a digital camera. He said Megan showed up at a friend’s house with Haley about 4 a.m. Robert Briggs said he noticed Haley and the car were missing about 7:30 a.m.

SUMMERVILLE — An Amber Alert has been issued in the alleged abduction of a 2-year-old Summerville girl.

Haley Renae Briggs was last seen at 122 High Bridge Road in Summerville at 1 a.m. Thursday morning. She was wearing a USA shirt and red pajama pants. The girl, seen in the photo here, has brown curly hair and blue eyes.

The suspect in the case is Megan Marie Briggs, 19. She has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt and white pants.

They're believed to be in a 2003 gold Buick Century with a license tag EQG113 with a front vanity plate reading "Carolina Girl."
