2. Community gathers for Celebration of Life for DCSO Det. Sgt. Tracy Cowee Jr. (counton2.com) — Friends, family, and law enforcement gathered at Seacoast Summerville to celebrate the life of Detective Sergeant Tracy Cowee Jr., who recently died after battling cancer. Speakers from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and Cowee's family shared stories of his dedication to the community, his devotion as a husband and father, and the positive spirit he brought to Summerville and beyond.
3. Twin Brothers Umpire in Blue Jays-Orioles Game (heavy.com) — Two Major League Baseball umpires who grew up in Summerville, Austin and Tyler Jones, are working the same Blue Jays–Orioles game as first and second base umpires. The twin brothers started umpiring as local teens and have since earned strong accuracy and consistency ratings while achieving their shared big-league dream.
4. Leaders at the roundtable: Dorchester County Sheriff Sam Richardson hosts county leaders to enhance public safety (counton2.com) — Summerville's mayor and police leadership joined other Dorchester County towns at a new Public Safety Leadership Roundtable hosted by Sheriff Sam Richardson to improve coordination and communication. The gathering focused on sharing ideas and building stronger partnerships so agencies can better protect residents across the county, including Summerville neighborhoods and businesses.
