Dale Nevins, a 55-year law enforcement veteran who served under five sheriffs and was once recognized as South Carolina's longest-serving Class One officer. His work with the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, St. George Police, and First Circuit Solicitor's Office shaped public safety for Summerville-area residents, and deputies will wear mourning bands until his funeral arrangements are finalized.
